CV & Interview Preparation and Application Assistance
Access to Employment provides CV support, interview preparation and application assistance to Job Seekers from all walks of life and with any employment history. This includes offering a regular Employment Preparation Course (EPC), training which covers all aspects of looking for work. Clients have told us that, having attended one of our courses, they felt much more confident and informed about all the stages of finding and securing work.

Career Advice & Guidance
This service helps all people, whether in work or not, to make action plans to achieve their desired employment goals. Whether you're in work looking to go into a different career, or not currently employed and aspiring to begin working in a particular sector, speak to one of Access to Employment's advisors, who will help you identify the steps you need to take to achieve your target. Access to Employment maintain a relationship with many businesses in the local area. Some of these business provide employment, work experience and training opportunities to Access to Employment Job Seekers. Some of these are completely exclusive to Access, meaning that only registered Access to Employment users can apply for the opening.
Resource Centres
Access to Employment have 3 resource centres. Whilst each resource centre has its own style, they all provide the resources needed for a successful job search.
Way to Work is keen to develop its free recruitment and job brokerage services, potentially saving employers thousands of pounds in recruitment costs and making sure you find the right person for the job.

Crisis is developing its programmes for enabling homeless and formerly homeless people to develop the skills which will enable them to find work.
E-citizen: Work towards a recognised IT qualification
Employability: This class provides help with online job search, application forms, and covering letters. This session provides IT related support for all abilities. Candidates can be signposted to training opportunities or study web-based tutorials on a range of subjects or applications relevant to the modern workplace.
Creative Computers: A rolling programme looking at the more creative computer applications. Topics include image manipulation, animation, web design, desktop publishing. Candidates will learn a range of transferable skills.

All students must enrol in person during the times stated above. If you are unable to attend any of the enrolment sessions, please ring 020 7332 3946 for assistance. Languages and ESOL tutors will be available to give advice and assess your level at various times throughout enrolment week. For details of availability, please download the Languages and/or Skills for Life pages of the Learning in the City prospectus (download link above).
Payment for all courses can be made either in cash or by cheque (payable to The City of London)
If you are 60 or over at the point of enrolment, receive an income based benefit or you are unemployed and receive Job Seeker's Allowance then you may be eligible for a concession. Please make sure you bring up-to-date evidence to enrolment.
The next City Guides Course (2008/9) will start in October 2008. Please download the document below for more information on this year’s course. If you would like to apply for the 2008/9 course, please ring 020 7332 3928 or email adulteducation@cityoflondon.gov.uk to request that you be added to the City Guides Course 2008/9 mailing database. You will then receive an application pack when they are sent out in June/July 2008.
